The CTU Publishing House consists of three departments: Edition Centre, Technical Literature Shop, and The Support Education Centre .

The Edition Centre has been in existence since 1964. Its main task consists in publishing lecture notes and all types of scientific and technical literature. The first work published by the EC appeared in 1965. Since then more than 7553 lecture notes have been published. In addition the periodical Acta Polytechnica, in which the results of scientific work of CTU staff as well as research workers from other institutions, is published in English four to six times a year. The CTU Rectorate Bulletin, formerly the CTU Information Bulletin, has been printed here since 1987. A total of 15 monographs were published in 1992 and 1993, and 10 publications of this type were issued in 1994.

The Technical Literature Shop was established almost thirty years ago. It supplies lecture notes as well as scientific and technical publications in many branches of science and technology. The TLS is now one of the largest specialized bookshops in the Czech Republic.

The Support Education Centre produces educational video programs and interactive programs for multimedia systems according to the needs of individual CTU faculties, and is involved in receiving, recording and distributing satellite-transmitted education programs. The Centre also provides design and consultancy services related to the introduction of audiovisual technology in CTU faculties, sells education programs to schools and other education facilities, cooperates with other institutions to carry out research in the field of modern education technologies, co-operates with foreign higher educational facilities, and helps the CTU with its publicity work.

The video programs produced by the Centre are available to students in special viewing rooms, or are used during lectures. Prior to 1993, over 230 audiovisual education programs had been produced by centre workers. The topics dealt with cover practically all branches of study available at the CTU, including language courses and interactive multimedia lectures.
